We heart Mirabel!

If you ever saw the above window at the nearly-closed down Richmond Meet Me at Mikes store - you will know that there were about 150 hearts in the window and they looked supercute!

I made these over a few weeks in the dead of night watching old episodes of 'Cold Feet' and 'Six Feet Under'!

I'd like to invite you to make a heart for our window! It can be any size, made of fabric or paper or whatever you like! We'll hang them all together and then we'll sell them off for $10 each, giving all funds to The Mirabel Foundation. It's part of our continuing committment to help raise funds and awareness for the absolutely wonderful work that Mirabel do.

We'd like all hearts to arrive before valentines day. You can make one heart, or a few - or just enjoy watching the pictures of them as they arrive and get hung in the window!

Send your hearts to - Meet Me at Mikes, 63 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Victoria, 3065, Australia.

Please include a luggage tag sized note with your heart, to tell us a little about yourself - that way the receiver of the heart can know just who was nice enough to make one! It should read like this :

Hello my name is:
I heart:
I wish for:

Yipeee!
xx mikes

  1. Just out of curiosity... Whatever happened to the postcards we made for the window? Are they still going to be used?

  2. Hey snow white! They are sitting in a special box waiting to be used - we actually didn't get enough to make a good sized display - so perhaps we can try again this year and go for a bumper lot of postcard/photos! xx

  15. Sorry, I'm an occasional visitor who has just stumbled into this discussion. I plan to make a heart (great idea) but in the meantime, can you clarify what you mean about the store being "nearly closed"? I've obviously missed something important.
