Ok.. I'm not really much of a knitter - but I have big plans! I'm mostly a knitter of rather knobbly scarves - but I've branched out into cup cozies!
It really does:
a. look cute
b. keep the coffee warmer
c. keep my hands warmer
d. feel a bit silly
e. make me giggle
But I'm fine with that.
I just cast on 8 stitches and knitted until it seemed nearly long enough to go around the cup. Then I cast off, sewed it up on the wrong side with embroidery floss in the same colour. Turned it. Went out, bought a coffee - got around the corner, took my cup cosy out and stretched it onto the cup. And the I walked down the street giggling like an idiot.
I love my cup cosy - and if you are a friend of mine, you better watch out, I'm probably making one for you. So you can look like a Noonan too.

Don't know why I've never heard it before.
I think I'll use it tomorrow. (And silently crack myself up because no-one else will get the joke!!)
I love that cozy. You know when you buy a takeaway coffee and they use really cheap cups and you burn your fingers while you try to carry it as you walk down the street, you have just completely solved that problem!
