Yep. I'm the founding member of this club. I love Richard Stubbs. When I was working on the book I listened to him every day. He practically wrote half of it. Really. I don't care about his 'face for radio' - i think he's really great. And once he read out my sms on air. Richard Stubbs IS my celebrity crush. And I'm proud of it. So there.
I love Richard and he's in the background now as I type. I always get a shock when I see a picture of him as I forget how er, shall we say plain, he is. He's much better on 774 than he was either on tellie or commercial radio. I think he's found his niche and feels he doesn't need to try so hard.
oh pip, i'm so on board with you. have a feeling you might be inundated with membership applications. i'll have one 'founding member' t-shirt please!felt terribly pleased with m'self when my sms was read out too. sometimes when he's not on and someone's filling in, i feel a little bit cranky for the arvo...
He is so not plain! The man has character, with or without accompanying photos. I'm all a-flutter now just thinking about Cheesy Tuesday, or even World of Pain. And he plays the best old school funk tracks that have me reprising my days of being a b-girl, on the kitchen floor. That floor needs mopping by the way......
Pip I'm so glad of the many lunches I have shared with your radio projecting Richard Stubs. I think he is great. And how good is this, my grandma is great friends with his mum!! So I think he is great too!!
