Handmade Help is up and running! Pop over there and you can email Cindy or myself from there. We will add your listing to the blog - or pass it on to one of our band of helpers to list. This is a community project - and we're all putting in big efforts to make a big difference.
- If you would like to list a crafty item for auction to benefit the Victorian Bushfire Appeals - then pop over there and let us know when you have. Click the email links!
- If you would like to donate a handmade item for distribution to families in need (when the timing is right, and in consultation with The Red Cross) the go over there to find the drop-off points or addresses to post to.
- If you would like to bid on a handmade item to benefit those affected by the fires (which are STILL raging) the go over there.
- If you would like to start knitting or crocheting cool weather items for these families (and singles) - then go over there and let everyone know what you are up to.
- If you would like to make a quilt for someone who lost everything - go over there and let us know.
- If you would like to organise for your business to be a drop-off point for donated handmade items - go over there and tell us that too!
I can't stress enough that this project is a long term commitment - it will run through until the end of the year at least. I also can't stress enough that you should donate MONEY first. If you can.
xx Pip

thanks for all these links...
I just got an email from one of my suppliers saying that they are donating rolls of wadding for quilts. I have emailed them and I am trying to get one for you guys. There might be some cutting up to do at the end of the week!
thank you so much for all these links - I've been adding them to my list and emailing them on as you have posted them too.
Thanks Pip. I have started putting together a quilt to auction off. I hope that together we can all make a difference, and help these people out best we can. Thanks for all your hard work.
Selina.
Thanks for all the great links. I also wanted to point out the CFA as being in need of funds as well - and not just at the moment, but they rely a lot on donations to upgrade equipment and build or maintain their sheds. I've written a post tonight about how you can donate to them -http://lucybowler.blogspot.com/2009/02/dont-forget-cfa.html
I'm glad you pointed out that this will be an ongoing thing so people shouldn't be concerned if their offers of help are put on hold. When people rebuild or relocate they will need a lot of help, so it may take some time for all donations to filter through.
Thank you Pip -- will donate now. Take good care. xo, alicia
Is it ok to put the button on our blogs with a link back to Cindy's blog to help spread the a word?
