Raymond Peynet - 1908 - 1999
What a funny fellow Raymond Peynet was. A commercial illustrator, he drew more then 6000 pictures of The Lovers (above - from 'The Lovers' Pocketbook') - some are cute and some are saucy - but all are really very sweet I think. He was a very loved up guy, Monsieur Peynet.
Peynet's work features on so many different items it makes me giddy. He designed ceramics for Rosenthal for between 1955 and 1965 - and also signed his name to countless cards, posters, magazine illos, books, dolls and perfume. Some more Peynet for your viewing pleasure :-
