A Week Of Special Stuff - Day Three

Look. This is special, don't you think? This is special to ME. This is a window from the Original Meet Me At Mike's store in Richmond. It's from about 2 years ago... I made all those cute raindrops from old pillowcases and sheets and little dresses and things.... and the cloud was made from some thrifted Scandy fabric and a TON of polyfill. I made it right in the shop one day and stuffed and stuffed all afternoon.

Can you see there are some geese there too? One of those featured in an issue of Frankie last year after we finally relented and sold it to a Goose-Loving girl. She was later photographed in a lovely dress... I think her Grandmother's dress for Frankie?! The girl, not the goose.

I still have some of these raindrops in my house... and the cloud became a dog-bed for Lucky and Snoopy until they tore it open and cheekily spilled the filling across our courtyard like stuffing-snow! They now sleep in a suitcase lined with lovely vintage blankets, so fear not!

I attached the raindrops with twine and safety pins... nicely spaced under the cloud... and then we pasted some music book pages behind.. and more thrifty fabric on the floor too...

The dollshouse seemed to complement the whole thing nicely.. so that's why that's there.. and there's my favourite little red stool barely visible near those previously mentioned geese.

The first Mike's store was pretty special, I think. Did you ever go there, I wonder?
