When I went to New York in October I was all equip with my maps and books. I even picked up this cute local map from Fred Flare of Greenpoint (heart! thank you FF). But sometimes I did have flashes of feeling like a bit of a luddite because everyone was clicking on their iPhones, getting GPS updates and getting subway directions at a snap.
But I decided that I like getting a bit lost. I like making friends with a map. With a bit of paper. I like orientating my internal compass via the position of the sun (like my Dad taught me). I like making dots and notes on my map.
So I'm excited to see these beautiful maps of Melbourne and Fitzroy made for you by Miso and Ghostpatrol with all their favourite spots marked by hand. Gimme the handmade aesthetic of a map like this any day over Googlemaps.
