On top of crashing a top class blog which both BQ and I love and respect, it's been another inspiring week.
What's crossed my radar this week? What am I thinking about?
1. It seems this was a week of activism. There were lots of arty - crafty comrades at the SLAM rally on Tuesday. Bloggers, artists, gogo dancers, knitters and lots of rock n rollers. There were over 10,000 people at the steps of Parliament - all there to support live music and the creative culture of Melbourne. In between feeling fired up and emotional, I took some photos. Have a look over here.
2. Sass came back. Sass came to be my work colleague after Pip introduced us - and I'm very grateful to her for bringing our worlds closer! Sass is the wonderful designer behind Ask Alice Stationery. Welcome home to Melbourne!
3. Maybe it's because I'm super busy and making lots of notes and lists - but I've become a little bit obsessed by my new pen. Okay, there is no such thing as "a little bit" obsessed. I'm just just plain obsessed. It is made by this Japanese company called Delfonics and I'm in love because: it's yellow, it's made of wood and it looks like it comes straight from 1955. Oh, and it writes in this very pointy precise way. I bought it on Crown Street, Darlinghurst from a great store called Paper2.
4. I'm going to Perth soon - and I'm excited that I might get to see my old pen pal Ms Leah Dent! I met Leah in the swimming pool of the Lazy Days Caravan Park circa 1980. Many years passed, and somehow our paths crossed again. Maybe there was something in the water of that swimming pool, but we've both ended up in creative fields with a taste for the crafty, the clever and the vintage.
5. I'm very much loving the new Eddy Current Suppression Ring album Rush to Relax. Perhaps some people might ASSUME this is too rock n roll for the average crafty-girl? I think that they assume wrong.
This ECSR clip is a good one to mark the end of summer and a fitting hats off to all the people who turned up at the aforementioned SLAM rally.
Love PG x
PS ... Hope you don't mind our intrusion! Pip says "HI!"
