:: Hart-ing Angie...
I've been hearing this gorgeous track on RRR a bit lately. I thought you would love it too. Or maybe you already do!? You have mighty good taste, then! But there is more to tell. You can read Angie's completely lovely BLOG here and find out what she's been up to with the Captain. Yes! A blog! How great.
I have been a big Angie fan for a long time and I love Frente too. I used to play their tapes on repeat in my old Volksy as Max and Ari and I did the oppy runs before they were old enough to be at school. (That VW always smelled like sultanas and bananas.... But back to Ms Hart.) Yikes-attack. She sings so beautifully and hearing her voice takes me back to all sorts of happy times, both then and now. How about you?! Do you Hart her too? Does her voice herald your happy days, too? Do you fly the Hart-y flag?

ReplyDeleteDid Frente do The Book Song featured on My So-Called Life (best teen TV show ever)? I think they did... if so thank you thank you for telling me her name is Angie Hart - will look her up :)
ReplyDeletei effing love frente!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I wasn't a huge Frente fan, they were a little to happu and up-beat for me, I was listening to the Doors at that point, but I have mellowed somewhat, now I listen to Slayer happily follow it up with Loreena McKennit. I really liked this. Thank you for making me give it a chance, I wouldn't have considered giving a listen if you hadn't put the link right there.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteI love Frente. I used to listen to them when I was 8 years old. It was summer and my dad went away on a trip and mum was working nights (she was a nurse) so my cousin came and looked after us and made us creamy mushroom pasta and taught me how to do back flips into the local swimming pool. I had a tape my cousin made for me of Marvin The Album. Later, when I was about 12, I bought my own copy and I still have it now! xo I thought I was the only one who still listened to it!
ReplyDeleteHad never even heard of them before over here in UK but loved this beautiful song...can anyone recommmend top album to download as really want to hear more - not bothered if old or new...Thanks Nix
ReplyDeleteHello, and thank you! Your blog is a ray of creative sunshine, and it brightens up my day, filling my head with ideas and inspiration. I have recently dabbled in crochet, and had a bash at softie making, which was super fun! I recently moved to Bristol (England), and its chock full of craft shops and crafty people. I am now going to throw all my energy into creating, whether its permaculture gardens or socks. Love your work, thanks for making me smile!
ReplyDeleteOh I loved Frente, brings back memories of science camp in year 11... Boy we were so cool with our cassette walkmans!!!
