:: Elisandra

I featured a print by Elisandra on the Meet Me At Mike's Facebook Spectacular last week.  I thought that maybe you might not be on Facebook? Or that you might have missed Elisandra in the endless stream of stuff I have been sharing over there!  Here she is again! She's super wonderful.

I've seen some of her stuff floating around on Pinterest too.  Do you know what I think about Pinterest? If you see something you like, try very hard to find the original source and click over.  I think it's really important to see the work others do as their work, rather than another pretty thing to pin.  I think that Pinterest is great, don't get me wrong, but it's good to remember where all those pictures came from, not just gaze contentedly at a sea of awesome stuff. Dig a bit deeper, when you can I say! Visit the source!

xx Pip

  1. That first one is going to be my mantra this week. I totally agree that often the source is forgotten or missed with pinterest, off to look at more.

  2. Her work is so beautiful. I purchased her Christmas postcards and pegged them along a piece of plain strong for an instant garland. All our visitors commented on how gorgeous they are. Must go look at her other prints!

  3. So agree with you Pip. I get frustrated if I try to find the source and someone has pinned it from Tumbler. Then I can't find where the person first posted it from Tumbler!

  4. I totally agree with this thought about pinterest, and often you see more things that you like form the source and the the trail starts to lead you off to even more lovely things.

  6. Those prints are absolutely gorgeous. They make me wish I had a house like Samantha Stevens in "Bewitched" to hang them all in.
    As for Pinterest, I can't help but find the original source. It actually annoys me not to know where they originate from. It feels superficial NOT to.

  7. I'm in love with that second pic - thanks for the share Pip. I too am very particular about pinterest. I rarely repin as the link-backs are not always clearcut enough for me. I like to go straight to the source and pin from there, or to a lovely page like your's Pip that acknowledges and links to the owner (so fab of you!). If I can't find the original (the reason I refuse to go near Tumblr!) I drag the said pic into the google images bar and it will find all identical and similar images. That way I can pick my way through them back to the original and pin from there. It is so important to ensure those who work hard to inspire us are given the recognition they deserve. xJulie

  10. Oooh so wonderful. I think we may be in need of a kitchen calendar too. Elisandra is new to me :)

    It's definitely worth the effort to dig a little deeper and discover the artist/maker, and you never know where that trail of links may lead you! Sometimes I credit a Pinterest page or weheartit or Tumblr on my blogs because I liked the collection and their links and hope that others may enjoy the trail those links took me on too. But I usually check that those links lead back to original sources... eventually. Thanks for the Google image bar tip Tilly Jak... I hate coming to dead ends too and this sounds like a brilliant strategy!

    And thanks for all the good stuff Pip. So lovely! xo
